Hip Hop legends to return to Resorts World Casino

The Resorts World Casino will see an explosion of old skool hip hop making its way through the doors this September.

Casino bosses have confirmed the Legends of Hip Hop Volume II event, which will take place at the casino in New York City on September 27 starting at 9pm.

Fans of old skool hip hop will be graced with the presence of former 90s and early 00s legends Coolio, Fatman Scoop, and Rob Base. Tickets are on sale now, starting from $30, while those who want to enjoy the VIP experience should expect to fork out up to $125 a piece.

This is not the first time that the resort has hosted former hip hop superstars. In March of this year, the casino welcomed the rapping talents of Naughty by Nature, Kurtis Blow, Black Sheep, DJ Kool, Marley Marl, and Scribble.

While the spring event attracted talent from New York’s rapping elite, this time around the venue will feature the dulcet tones of California-born rapper Coolio, whose career has gone from strength to strength in recent decades.

After moderate success in the late 80s, the star shot to fame in 1995 when he recorded a track for the Michelle Pfeiffer hit Dangerous Minds. Gangsta’s Paradise, featuring rapper L.V., stayed at #1 of the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks, and today is widely regarded as one of the most popular rap songs of all time. While he enjoyed the success of his most famous hit, Coolio faded into obscurity in the 00s, re-appearing briefly for a stint on Celebrity Big Brother in the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Fatman Scoop appeared on the rap scene in 1997, but became most famous for his track Be Faithful, which had huge international success in 2003. Joining Scoop will be Rob Base, who was better known as one half of the Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock duo, whose hit It Takes Two has often been cited as one of the greatest hip hop songs of all time.

The evening will offer guests a huge variety of entertainment with a casino location providing the perfect mix of music and thrills. Those travelling from far away would be advised to dig out their old hip hop CDs and play a few games at http://www.riverbellecasino.com, to get into the spirit of the evening.

While it’s debatable as to whether or not these hip hop favorites will see their career revived in the 2010s, this is one evening that will guarantee to transport rap fans back to the golden years of hip hop.
