Summer may unofficially be over but that doesn’t mean that island time is over. In fact, technically we have until late September and our team is prepared to take full advantage of that. The best part of our island push is that we do not have to leave New York. Oh and we can have all the pork we want.

If you’ve been following along, then you know about our experience on the island last year. If you haven’t been up to date on our coverage, allow us to open to your appetite (and we hope you love pork).

The event is called Pig Island and has been going on for 7 years and for good reason. For starters, it takes place at an epic venue that cannot be replicated anywhere. The meat fest is held on Brooklyn’s Red Hook Waterfront (next to IKEA) on Saturday, September 10th

Unlike many New York experiences, one of the neatest elements of this event is the transportation. Coming by ferry really gives it an island feel.  As you wander around the premises, you’ll enjoy a stellar line-up of new and returning chefs, Mezcal and Whiskey, craft beer, wine and cider, live entertainment and meat!

Pig Island features more than 20 of the region’s best (and award-winning) chefs, creating the freshest dishes, including the following (currently scheduled to attend and subject to change):

Roxanne Spruance of Kingsley
Delaney BBQ (Daniel Delaney and crew)
Patricia Clark Catering/All Five Senses
