I’m not sure if you know this but there is a United States Open Miniature Golf Tournament! We’re not kidding and it gets underway this weekend on the Jersey Shore in Oceanport. While an official tournament may be a little intense for us given that we only think of mini golf while we’re at the shore or on vacation, it made us realize how much we enjoy putting around the whimsical courses filled with loop-di-loops and fake castles. It also made us realize the last time we’ve been to a course and scratching our head to think of a local course to play (no, not to prepare for the US Open of Mini Golf!).

We did some digging and there are actually a ton of courses to check out. Lucky for us in New York, we are enjoying some perfect weather to take our girlfriends on a date only to get frustrated when they beat us!

Here’s where to play!

Figment 2014 Mini Golf Course (Governors Island)
Apparently the price isn’t the only thing that draws people to this course. It’s recreated every year and supposed to go above and beyond any minigolf standards (whatever that means) and ps, it’s FREE

This course has a WATERFALL!

Go Karts, Batting Cages and Minigolf! Sounds like a full day to me!

Check out this review from MommyPoppins.com: This nine-hole course boasts two real NASA rockets, making it truly out-of-this-world. Kids get to explore concepts like propulsion, gravity, escape velocity, launch window and gravitational assist while playing. Forget spinning windmills; in Splash Down, players attempt to shoot their balls across the putting green into a Skee-ball-type mechanism, with a globe as its main target. The whole park is reminiscent of the Space Age ’60s, making the atmosphere super cool.
