A sitar soloist in India at age six, Seshadri has studied with Ravi Shankar since 1974 and is considered his pre-eminent protégé. Seshadri’s crossover work includes the Orion Project (with Philip Glass and Brazilian percussionists Uakti) and sitar-based East-meets-West classical compositions. Tonight, Arup Chattopadhyay accompanies him on tabla, and if you’ve never experienced a Hindustani master in concert, this would be a great place to rectify that error in judgment.
