While the pandemic is no reason to laugh, we have 7 full days of reasons. If you’re in New York this week, there is NO reason for you NOT to get your laugh on! The annual seven-day New York Comedy Festival spread across all five boroughs that regularly features household names, headliners on the rise, niche acts and everything in between is back in 2021!

This year, the festival features Bill Maher, Marc Maron and Michelle Wolf, among many others. It all begins on November 8th and ends on November 14th.  The festival kicks off with the annual “Stand Up For Heroes” benefit to raise money for The Bob Woodruff Foundation, started by the veteran ABC correspondent and his wife Lee to help injured veterans and their families.

The Festival is produced by Caroline’s on Broadway. It was created in 2004 and features more than 200 comedians performing more than 100 shows at venues across our beloved city.  After being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, the New York Comedy Festival is back this year, ready to offer audiences more entertainment than ever before.  Yes, we’re still in a pandemic but that is no reason not to have some fun. This is your chance at a full week of it!

The festival added more than 100 shows to its line up, announced the addition of “Comedy Included,” a two-day event in partnership with Citi, to celebrate diverse voices in comedy and entertainment and teamed up with Audible to present the first-ever “Tall Tales of Comedy,” a national competition that brought together emerging comedic storytellers from across the country, to craft comedic and engaging narratives.

“Storytelling is an art, and we’re going to celebrate it at the festival,” said Caroline Hirsch, founder and owner of the New York comedy club Carolines on Broadway and the New York Comedy Festival.
