The Big Cheesy: A sticky situation
It’s a comfortably warm Saturday afternoon, and while there an infinite of events happening in New York, why choose to attend the Big Cheesy? Here are few reasons to support this evidence.
This is an annual event where local businesses muster up the courage to appear in a pop-up gallery and showcase their best grilled cheese sandwich.
A sea of people crowd the venue every hour, and armed with a complimentary beer have unlimited tastings of amazing creations. Some sandwiches are made by blending together multiple variations of cheese, with Portobello mushrooms served with a side of delicious tomato soup.
Other sandwiches made with bacon, ham, and for all you vegans out there they also a vegetarian alternative. At the end of the hour before the new crowd enters you can vote for your favorite by dropping in a ping pong ball next to the company that truly satisfies your palate.
Personally, everyone is a winner but the number one choice magnifying the craving goes to the Truffle Grilled Cheese. Imagine, blending in mushrooms, baby arugula and Gruyere, and goat cheese melted to perfection is a wonderful treat brought to you by the Sons of Essex in Manhattan.
Absolutely delicious!
If you get a chance check out the event next year and or if you can’t wait that long, then feel free to try making it yourself.
