We know what you’re thinking; a cheap headline to get you to read this. Fine, we’re quasi guilty but we also want to let you know about an awesome event and event space.
If you love German beer and frequent the various beer halls around town drinking delicious steins like their pints and wondering why you’re hungover after only ‘3 beers’, read further!
The Goethe-Institut of New York is a cultural arm of the German government and is opening its new headquarters on the first and fourth floors of 30 Irving Place. Pretty sweet location; now get this: German language, film, art, German DJS, pretzels (standard) and BEER are all on the house! If you’re one of the many beer snobs we have coming to visit, they will be serving Radeberger Pilsner (probably NOT served in a boot); we hope that’s OK with you.
If you care beyond the beer and beyond the free, The Goethe-Institut New York fosters cultural cooperation and promotes German language learning by offering the public opportunities to interact with themes and questions relevant to German culture and society.
As you can probably tell, culture has been on our minds lately. Let’s be New Yorkers and let’s take advantage!
