Located in the heart of Harlem, Shrine World Music Venue is housed in the former headquarters of Harlem’s largest Black charity, the Black United Fund Plaza (the signage of which remains minus the D in fund, making it the Black United FUN Plaza) and inspired by the music venue and home of Nigerian artist, Fela Kuti, the founder of Afrobeat music.  While Shrine is steeped in tradition, it also serves as a gathering place for up-and-coming artists and residents of Harlem, old and new.
