at Yankee Stadium (161st Street & River Avenue, Bronx)
In the mid-’80s, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax turned the rock world on its ear with one lightning-fast thrash-metal salvo after another, and in the early ’90s, three of those bands became gold- or platinum-selling artists and one became a household name. Now, after 30 years of rivalry and competition, they have put their differences aside to celebrate their histories. Tonight’s Yankee Stadium gig marks only the second time this bill has come together in the U.S. Get there early to see New York’s biggest metal band Anthrax, who just released Worship Music, their first record in eight years. – Village Voice
