While the weather has not cooperated, this time of the year brings us a lot to enjoy around our great city.  For our team here, it is officially eating season.  And, as you know, that is a sport around here.  Don’t worry, we offset with the gym. Sort of.

As we get to the summer months, there will be plenty of food and drink festivals to enjoy — this weekend brings us two really fun ones that we enjoy.

If you’re up for leaving the island and heading to Queens, the World’s Fare is a grand celebration of equality and the diversity of New York City paying homage to the great Fair of 1964. Over 100 vendors from over 100 cultures will come together to unite through authentic food, drink and music curated by New York City’s leading taste makers. Discover the World at Citi Field.  May be a good way to start planning the countries you’ll visit this summer.

Not feeling so worldly and want to keep it local?  Head downtown to Tribeca for Taste of Tribeca; an annual outdoor culinary festival benefitting arts and enrichment programs at local public elementary school’s PS 150 and PS 234. It takes place every year on the third Saturday in May, on Duane Street between Greenwich and Hudson in the historic Lower Manhattan neighborhood of Tribeca.

Taste of Tribeca features dishes from over 60 of Tribeca’s best restaurants; along with live entertainment; family-friendly Kids, Family and Sports Zones; and wine, beer and cider tours of local shops and pubs. It’s a unique event that unites the entire Tribeca community.

Either way, you cannot go wrong with either option.  Food season is here and if you can’t make one of these this weekend, there are plenty more festivals to come.  As always, we have you covered on the latest — especially when it comes to food!
