We love the Cyclone as much as anyone, but it’s good to see a full-on amusement park back in Coney Island. This June, Luna Park opened after a whirlwind construction period (the whole thing went up in about two months). The park pays homage to the original Luna Park and Coney Island’s past (check out the ride that’s a clear throwback to the Parachute Jump, which still sits at the end of the Boardwalk), while also featuring more modern rides.
