Jenny Slate has attracted quite the fan base for her appearance on shows like SNL, Parks and Rec, and the recently launched sitcom Married. But the crowd that gathered Tuesday night at Housing Works Café wanted to hear about one thing and one thing only: A lovable shell named Marcel.
Alongside husband and creative partner, Dean Fleischer, Jenny took the stage to debut their third, and highly anticipated short film: “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, Three” and to discuss their new book entitled “Marcel the Shell: The Most Surprised I’ve Ever Been”. She explained how Marcel the Shell came to be a character millions obsess over and even read us the book in Marcel’s iconic bashful voice.
