New York is finally getting a Space Shuttle. While the thirty year old Space Shuttle program officially ended last summer, New Yorkers were treated to the sight of one of the iconic crafts, the Space Shuttle Enterprise, being flown over Manhattan (on the back of a 747) on its way into Kennedy Airport last month. While the Space Shuttle Enterprise has never actually been in orbit, it was the first Space Shuttle ever built as a prototype. The Enterprise was transported by barge on Sunday from Kennedy Airport to Jersey City New Jersey, and is eventually on its way to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
