Hello April, we meet again! There are few things that your writer can always depend on to jazz up the Big Apple: Easter, Tribeca Film Festival, and of course the New York International Auto Show at Javits Center – and that my friends is where we begin. Since we attended the event last year, we figured why not go again.

We, alongside other car enthusiasts were invited to a two-day insider exclusive event at Javits and it was such a treat to see all the cars lined up and ready for their close-up.

While trying to figure out the showroom map, we passed some cool smart car concepts and then made our way to the more stylish imports such as the Alpha Romeo, Maserati, Jaguar, Lotus, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Ferrari Spider, and Porsche.

In case you want to continue the Bentley theme, now they have customized hand bags to match – what will they think of next?

We walked around some more and then ended up towards the Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes Benz – and this is where your writer fell in love – it’s true. Just a few few feet away there it was – a fire engine red hot Mercedes-AMG Coupe- and then something happened.

Suddenly, I was driving down the coast of Monaco or perhaps it was Big Sur or better yet, the Autobahn – regardless- the wind was in my hair, the scarf aimlessly flapping around, I was wearing huge Jackie-O shades and customized engraved driving gloves cruising around and allowing this wild and sexy red beast to take me wherever.

You know how some people enjoy buying labels and give into other addictions? Well cars just happen to be your writer’s vice. Sigh – be still my heart – one day; until then at least daydreaming is free.

During the course of the first day we also attended the after party sponsored by KIA – and let’s just say it was quite impressive and we will let the pictures speak for themselves.

The second day continues with more cars and this time we also attended the East Side Settlement Gala as well.

Oh wait a second, before we end our review, calling all daredevils – you must take a ride on the Jeep Roller-coaster – it was super fun. Do you think ten times in two days is a bit much?

No, we didn’t think so either. The Car Show is open to the public from 4/18-4/27 – so what are you waiting for? Get down here already.
