With Alabama’s G-Side making their New York debut last year at the Maysles Cinema and MOMA PS1 introducing Queens to Big Freedia, Odd Future’s Syd tha Kyd, and occasional Main Attrakionz beatsmith Clams Casino, the city’s art scene has proved to be an unexpected launching pad for the rest of the country’s rap weirdos.
