This is probably not the Phil you’re thinking of and definitely not Pauxautawney Phil who always seems to bring us bad news. We’re writing to tell you about the New York Phil aka The New York Philharmonic.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to experience the world class orchestra in Lincoln Center, you are not completely missing out. Symphonies and Lincoln Center may not be your thing or you may not want to pony up for the price of admission. Even though it’s totally worth seeing the global, yes global, favorite right here in your hometown.

We’re not here to lecture you but happy to tell you about tonight’s event involving the New York Philharmonic. The event is FREE so you can cross the money excuse off your list. And the event is taking place in Central Park. It’s one of the best events in New York City all year. Bring your friend, bring some wine (hide it well) and some eats then sit back, relax and enjoy some of the finest music in the WORLD right from the comfort of your spot on the Great Lawn of Central Park!

Depending on how savvy you are, you may care that it is the All-American Program with Joshua Bell. Music Director, Alan Gilbert conducts Bernstein’s West Side Story Suite, featuring violinist Joshua Bell, alongside works by Barber, Gershwin, Copland, Anderson, Rodgers, and Sousa. This may or may not mean something to you, but take it from us laymen; this is a special evening (and a great date night!).

We have our blanket ready and umbrellas if necessary. NY Phil in the Park is not to be missed. We’ve had our calendars circled from last summer!
