Omar-S overflows with confidence: He’s stuffed a Fabric mix CD with only his own tracks, insulted the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, and pretended not to know who Ricardo Villalobos is. He can get away with it, because his mechanistic funk really is that good. He’s cribbed some notes from fellow Detroiter Theo Parrish, but stunning recent classics such as “Psychotic Photosynthesis” are startlingly unique.
