Some things in New York City are a sign of the times and let us know which month it is or which season we’re in or about to enter. For example, when the enormous movie screen in Bryant Park pops up, it means that it’s summer or when the tree rises in Rockefeller Center, it’s time for the Holidays. How about the shivering Statue of Liberty? We all know and recognize this poster. This sign means that it’s time to give and help the less fortunate.

We here at New York Events know that we have several unused (and unclaimed) coats in our closet. These can be used to keep others warm! So before you lick your lips and dive head first into that turkey, let’s think about those that need to stay warm.

New York Cares hosts the coat drive and will collect your extras at any of their 300 public drop-off collection sites citywide. You can learn more and find out the drop-off location closest to you at newyorkcares.org.

It’s a great cause, costs you nothing, frees up space in your closet, and most of all, it helps someone who needs it!

Give away your extra coats today!
