at Tarrytown Music Hall (13 Main Street, Tarrytown)

Forming in 1961 and breaking up before the 1968 release of their Odessey and Oracle, their lone full-length masterpiece, there’s no mistaking the Zombies for anything but a ‘60s band: They played Murray the K’s famous Christmas shows, drummer Hugh Grundy revved the motorcycle that punctuates “Leader of the Pack,” and they made psychedelic surf-pop as good as anyone. Eventually that final record was re-discovered by a handful of late ‘90s indie bands, its melancholic lightness surviving beyond the decade in which it was so firmly rooted.
