While Summer has officially come to a close, we remember many events that never happened. One of our favorite summer activities in New York City is heading to Bryant Park after a long day at the office and relaxing on their beautiful lawn and watch a movie. It’s a tradition that we hold near and dear to our hearts and can’t wait to hopefully get back on the lawn in 2021 to catch some great flicks with our friends, neighbors and fellow city residents.

While the movies are the centerpiece, Bryant Park is a beloved, year-round New York City destination. Known as Manhattan’s Town Square, the park is famous for its lush seasonal gardens, free activities, world class restrooms, and al fresco dining. Located adjacent to the New York Public Library and surrounded by iconic skyscrapers, Bryant Park is visited by more than 12 million people each year and is one of the busiest public spaces in the world.  People flock from everywhere for many reasons including Bryant Park Grill & Café, the Winter Village and the general magic captured in the park.

Part of the magic is what The Park delivers. This fall, Bryant Park will begin to host special outdoor performances for the public to enjoy this month. Beginning September 14th, Bryant Park will feature musicians from the American Symphony Orchestra (ASO) for a series of pop-up concerts throughout the month. The other shows will take place on September 16, 21 and 23.  Each show will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. those days on the Upper Terrace. The shows are free to the public, but are operated on a first-come, first-serve basis as audiences will be capped at 50 people. Attendees will be asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing. This makes us feel like things are returning to normal a bit and we are encouraged by that!

The shows on September 14 and 21 will be livestreamed on Bryant Park’s Facebook and Instagram pages for those who wish to watch the show from home.
