Do you like pumpkins and all things that Halloween along with the general season has to offer? Great! So do we! And, consistent with all events, we’re here to tell you all about some exciting things happening in our area. As we approach one of the best days to celebrate in our city and the most epic parade, we like to remind our readers and followers that events do expand outside of the five boroughs, and some are worth the travel! The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze is one of them!

This event oozes all things Halloween. It’s a walk-through experience of thousands of hand-carved pumpkins in elaborate displays that light up the night at two historic locations in New York. At Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson and Old Bethpage Village Restoration in Old Bethpage, larger-than-life installations, along with synchronized lighting, create a magical, family-friendly experience for all ages. With two options available, you can go north, or you can go east. Either direction, you won’t be disappointed!

Since 2005, more than 2 million visitors have been delighting in this walk-through experience, where thousands of hand-carved pumpkins in elaborate displays light up the night. Now at two National Historic Landmarks, in Westchester at Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson and in Nassau County at Old Bethpage Village Restoration in Old Bethpage, this fun fall festival features larger-than-life installations, along with synchronized lighting, and an all-original soundtrack. It’s a magical, family-friendly experience for all ages. more. In addition to the glowing sights, you can enjoy fall-themed sweets and snacks at the cafe and the expanded gift shop with exclusive souvenirs and local finds.  It’s truly Christmas for the fans of Halloween!

Every year the event seems to sell out, so it’s recommended that you get tickets as soon as possible—which have just gone on sale! You’ll need to reserve a spot in advance, as tickets won’t be sold at the door at all. There are two options however — flex tickets, which allow you to visit on any night, and timed entry tickets for specific slots.
