‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year…’ Does that song have to apply to the Holiday Season? What if we think the Holiday Season is now?

Halloween is definitely our favorite holiday. We love the creative wild coming out (and the scantily-clad dressed women). The day gives us an excuse to release our inner crazy and show some skin in the process. The holiday becomes even more exciting and interesting when it’s on a weekend.

This year we’re celebrating on a Friday which means at least one full weekend of madness! Judging by the submissions that have been coming in already, we fully expect our calendar to be loaded with great activities for the holiday.

We’ve already had the opportunity to cover the Blood Manor attraction and still say that you need to see one of the best haunted houses in NYC!  However, if you can’t make it down to Varick Street, we have a couple of other options for you:

Nightmare: New York

Based on the city’s very own heart of darkness, Nightmare: New York is a truly frightening interactive haunted house experience that will leave even the toughest shaking in their boots. In it’s 11th season, Nightmare is the longest-running Halloween attraction in the city, and this year it tackles legendary horror stories and urban legends of NYC. Featuring gargoyles, alligators, super rats, serial killers and much, much more, this scream-inducing haunted house will remind you that some of the greatest nightmares are in your own backyard.  Click here for tickets…

Spooky Nighttime Adventures at The New York Botanical Garden

Experience the thrills and chills of the season in a haunted world of pumpkins as you travel along The New York Botanical Garden’s Whole Foods Market Trick-or-Treat Trail after dark. For Spooky Nighttime Adventures, you’ll grab a Con Edison flashlight and explore pumpkin sculptures as you trick-or-treat along the Adventure Garden’s winding pathways after dark. Listen for critters of the night, dig around for decomposers and decorate gourds. If you dare, see the giant pumpkin displays illuminated in the darkness and journey along the meandering Wild Wetland Trail. Programming geared towards children 4-12 years old, but are sure to be enjoyed by “kids at heart,” too!  Click here for tickets…
