Goodbye Team USA. You poured your hearts out for us and gave this country a summer to remember. In fact, I think that MLS owes you a big thank you. We expect the interest level in American soccer to significantly increase. I, for one, knew little about soccer before the World Cup…Now I know a little more than before but enough to decide to pick an MLS team and start following them. Having season tickets to the Jets for years, I knew that I didn’t want to travel to NJ to see a NY team (sorry, Redbulls) so I did some investigating into the latest MLS addition, New York City FC. They will begin playing in Yankee Stadium in 2015 and recently signed David Villa Sánchez who is probably past his prime but has a big enough name to draw other talent to the newly formed team.

In line with going big or go home, I looked into season tickets which run from $300 to $3,000 for the full 17 game season depending on where you want to sit (more information is available at nycfc.com). The MLS season is underway and I am excited to add another sport to my repertoire. Godd knows that I need another reason to eat wings and drink beer on my days off!
