It seems like the boogie down Bronx has been getting a lot of attention on New York Events. Our experience with Lehman Center has our eyes wandering off the island of Manhattan and north to the borough of the Bronx. And for good reason!
On a former Bronx dump, a golf course has opened! For those of you, like us, who ventured north to play a cheap round at Van Cortlandt Park, there are now better options! We are talking about a nice public course, a luxurious public course, a TRUMP public course. And yes, in the Bronx!
The backdrop will be gorgeous as it’s in the shadow of the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge. It will have a high-end clubhouse and restaurant which is estimated to cost $10 million (temporary structure in place now) and will be overseen by the Parks Department. We know what you’re thinking – what will it cost? Yes, we had the same concerns.
Greens fees are about three times what they are at the city’s other courses; a city resident will pay $169 to play on weekends, while a nonresident will pay $215. They will have electric golf carts with GPS so that you order Bronx Ale (will be served – yes, we checked) wherever you are! Pretty sweet, huh?
Mr. Trump isn’t all that bad. He fought hard to get this done and we can’t wait to check it out!
